LKS Lodz were originally formed as Klub Sportowy Łodzianka Łódź, which means the Sports Club for the city of Łódź. ŁKS was founded in 1908 as Łodzianka but the name was changed to Łódzki Klub Sportowy immediately in the same year. In 1949 the teams from Łódź like DKS and SS Włókniarz was merged to ŁKS and the team was named ŁKS Włókniarz.

The club change back his name to ŁKS in 50s

Most of the names over the years have been a variation on that theme. The two main nicknames of LKS Lodz are Rycerze wiosny - Knights of the Spring and Rodowici Łodzianie - Natives of Łódź. Rycerze wiosny dates from a newspaper article by Jerzego Zmarzlika in 1957 to honor a 4-goal victory by LKS Lodz over Górnik Zabrze, despite playing much of the match with 10 men.

Trophy Room:
* Ekstraklasa (1958, 98)
* Polish Cup (1957)
