Legia's Mięciel makes ŁKS final return

LODZ, Poland. July 5 (PS) — Legia Warsaw FC striker Marcin Mieciel in the upcoming season will be playing his football in the Liga 1 team LKS Lodz.

He has signed a one-year-contract with the club.

"While it has been a long time since I was here, and last I was here for only for half a year, I remember this time very well. I scored six goals for LKS and I lived on great terms with the supporters. I hope that nothing in this regard will change, and I'll help LKS to return to the Ekstraklasa, where it's his rightful place is." Mieciel said during a news conference in Lodz.

He added that he had offers from other clubs, including Ruch Radzionkow, but his heart was closest to LKS.

Mieciel also recalled that his wife is from Lodz, and many fans of LKS were at his wedding which made him ultimately decide to return.

Before the start of the new season, LKS have announced they are planning to still get four new players.

The 34-year-old played with LKS Lodz in 1995. He also played among other clubs such as Legia Warsaw FC, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Iraklis Thessaloniki FC, PAOK Thessaloniki FC, and VfL Bochum.
