Żurawski to end his career at Warta?

KRAKOW, Poland. Apr 02 (PSN) - At the end of the season comes to an end of the binding contract between Maciej Żurawski and Wisła Kraków.

While it may be true, that there an option for a contract extension for another year, it is doubtful the White Star will choose this road.

So what's next for the veteran Polish striker? It has been suggested to end his career. However, the father of the footballer Andrzej Żurawski feels that his son should play for Poznań supporters one last time.

Wisła parting with 'Magic' appears to be inevitable. The player spends most of his time sitting on the bench, and the only thing expected of him from coach Robert Maaskant, is serving as a liaison between him and the team. This makes the former representative to begin to consider ending his career.

"No need to force it. I do not want to kick the ball at all costs, just to do it. In May, my contract comes to an end and may be such that I finish playing football. I do not exclude the possibility that I will still be at Wisła in a different role. In Poland I played only in Wisła, and Lech, and does not seem to me appropriate that at the end of my career I join up with a team with whom I have never been linked previously with." said in an interview Żurawski.

He forgot or intentionally did not mention the name of the one club in which he also played in Poland - Warta Poznań.

Friends of the player say Żurawski may take up the challenge and try to help Warta Poznań in promotion to the Ekstraklasa.

"Is Maciej coming back to Warta? I would like very much so and who knows, maybe even quite a real possibility starting next season. It would be a nice culmination of his career. The team is composed almost entirely of Poznań based players, and soon it will come to our most gifted pupils. Maciej would fit in well here." said the player's father, Andrzej, whom is engaged in training the junior players of Warta.

Promotion of Warta to the Ekstraklasa with his son in the first team would certainly be a dream come true for the junior coach.
