One of the largest competitive U-11 football tournaments in Europe is about to get bigger this year with even greater clubs joining in.

The Lech Cup is a tournament that year after year is gaining more fame, and this year it will be host for some of Europe's greatest clubs.

At the tournament, which will be played in December will include this year Tottenham Hotspur FC, Valencia CF and the FC Barcelona school of Hong Kong.

"Every year there is an increasing interest in the tournament, so we can invite even better and more renowned teams." says the director of the Lech Cup, Wlodzimierz Majdowski.

"Sporting Lisbon may serve as an example of that. The Portuguese club in the last year sent us a squad of reserves, for which a week after the event sincerely apologized and promised that in future editions they will instead only send their most talented young players."

"The Cup is still fairly young, but already it is providing us with fantastic clubs and results. We expect it to be even bigger in years to come."

The competition will host 12 teams and will take place in Poznań within the indoor Poznan Arena.

The list of participants, although only children, is impressive: Sporting Lisbon, Valencia CF, Tottenham Hotspur, Portsmouth FC, Hertha BSC, HSV Hamburg, Slavia Prague, Celtic FC, FC Barcelona Escola, Hong Kong, Polish junior national team, and hosts KKS Lech Poznan.

Lech Poznan will be the only Polish club taking part this year, after both Legia Warsaw and Polonia Warszawa were pulled out to make room for other European teams.

instead of the polish national LEGIA or POlonia should play in it. In Poland the clubs should improve together and not of the costs of the other.

That is nice to see. That is how you invest in your youth system. Lech Poznan is doing it right. Its too bad that this season is not as successful as their UEFA cup run last year. Its only a slight set back. I look forward to Lech producing some quality talent in the future.
