Forest to buy out Majewski for 6 mill?

NOTTINGHAM, England. Nov 15 — Recent reports from England point to the fact that Nottingham Forest FC is on the verge of buying out Radoslaw Majewski's contract from Polonia Warszawa. The English side is willing to purchase the former Blackshirt player for a reported 1.5 million euros (about 6 million zł).

For now, the Polish international is on loan with the English team - where it cost the Nottingham club officials 150 thousand euros to make the loan possible.

Money, however, is no issue for the club. Majewski has quickly become a fan favorite at City Ground and an important part of the Coca-Cola Championship side's roster.

"Negotiations with Nottingham is currently on going and being done through my manager. He will inform me if anything is considered to be a done deal." says Majewski.

"If there is such a chance for me to stay in England, I would gladly take it. I feel like a new player here,"

"Fortunately, there is a good chance for that to happen (...)"

Majewski left Warsaw after a poor 2008-2009 season. He has since landed in England on loan and completely revived his troubled career.

His series of good performances in the Islands did not go unnoticed. Poland boss Franciszek Smuda recently called the player up for two November FIFA friendly matches against Romania and Canada.

The Pole did not feature against Romania in Warsaw on Saturday, but is expected to make an appearance in the match with Canada due to midfield star Jakub Blaszczykowski out with injury.

many many thanks from the people of Nottingham, Raddy is a fantastic player and we must sign him on a permanent contract at all costs, his latest goal, the second of a 3-1 routing of promotion favourites is one of the goals of the season. it reminded me of van bastans goal againsts russia in 1988 euro finals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?

msudzi,
you are confusing the strength (or weakness) of the english team with the English leagues.
There are players of all nationalities playing throughout the leagues in England which is why it is currently one of the strongest in the world.

Yes its true tons of Polish players have failed in England. It is also true that many of them went there at the after their prime ie Frankowski etc. However I'm sick of hearing how good the English First Division is, they should be winning every tournament every year if they are that good like the Itilian teams did in the 1990's and besides when England gets a real goalie and actually does something in a major tournament they can talk.

If you look properly Rob, you'll see Forest are in the second division, not the third. and the championship is by far the best second tier in the world, fact.

Rob,
You misjudge the strength of the English Championship and I think you are comparing it with the second league in Poland.
How many teams in the Polish second league play before crowds of 25,000 (Newcastle play in front of crowds of 40,000+)?

I doubt whether many Polish Extraklasa teams would survive in the Championship let alone be good enough to get promotion to the Premier league.

Look at Polish "hero" Smolarek...not good enough to get a game at Bolton. Too many Polish players in the Polish first league think they are good enough for the Premiership but they are not.
Look at the number of players that have tried and failed..Frankowski 16 games for Wolves, no goals; Swierczewski 70 caps for Poland, 1 substitute appearance for Birmingham; Kosowski 50 caps but only 12 games for southampton, Hajto 60 caps failed at Derby and southampton, Kazmierczak..another donkey that was not good enough for the championship...the list goes on and on.

Forest is in second league and are close to a promotion... Majewski is young he has to start somewhere, its not like hes going to play for a top team right away.

Good for him but it is sad that we are happy a "POlish PLayer is playing in England, does no one notice its the third division? If our players are happy to be playing in third divisions of other countries istead of our first division then our third division plays like a real good high school team.

Not the biggest, not the fastest, not the strongest but this lad certainly knows how to play a killer pass.
He has laid on quite a few goals for Forest and scored a couple of beauties. The goal v Derby was a cracker, although his goal against Middlesbrough was probably a better goal technically.

I don't think he has fully come to terms with the championship yet and i think there is more to come.
At least he had the guts to back his own ability and go to England, unlike some of the other Extraklasa "stars" who expect to walk into a Premiership team.

We LOVE him here in Nottingham; he scored perhaps the best goal to grace our stadium for a number of years against Derby. His creativity in the central positions is vital to the attacking part of Nottingham Forest.
