KRAKOW, Poland. Mar 15 (PS) — Henryk Kasperczak has officially replaced Maciej Skorza as the coach of Wisla Krakow.
The new Wisla coach has signed a contract with the club for two years.
Together with the Krakow club he won the Ekstraklasa championship three times, and in 2003 he was able to advance with Wisla to 1/8 finals of the UEFA Cup.
He has plenty of experience coaching abroad, where he most notably started in France, coaching for FC Metz, AS Saint-Etienne, Strasbourg, Racing Club de France, Montpellier, and OSC Lille. He was also coach the national team of Côte d'Ivoire and Tunisia.
"I thank the President of the club that gave me the chance to work with the team. A man can never expect anything in life. But for me the most is to win Polish championship. I will make every effort to achieve this goal," says Kasperczak.
"Everyone is surprised by this, but this gives me great satisfaction to coach Wisla again. I have always had this club deep in my heart. The most important thing for me now is that I can once again work in this club again."
After parting from Wisla in 2004 Kasperczak for two years led the national team of Senegal, and then from September 2008 to June 2009 he was the head coach of Gornik Zabrze.
