BIALYSTOK, Poland. June 03 (PS) — Tomasz Kupisz is Jagiellonia Bialystok's new player after an announced was made on late Wednesday.

The 20-year-old has signed a contract for a year with an option to extend for three years.

Jagiellonia gained the player on a free transfer. This is due to the fact that Kupisz's contract ended with the Premier League club Wigan Athletic.

Several days ago he was already on trial with the Bialystok based club.

Kupisz is a graduate of Junior Radom, where he then played in Piaseczno. Since 2007 he played for Premier League club Wigan Athletic.

However, on the first team he played only once. It was in 2008 during the League Cup. Interestingly, the Pole even scored a goal in that same match.

Unfortunately, it was not enough to convince Wigan's training staff, and Kupisz would sometimes only sit on the bench during Premiership matches. Last season Kupisz was the third top goal scorer in the reserves league.

He is able to play both as a forward and on the wings.
