POZNAN, Poland. July 17 (PS) — After lengthy negotiations, KKS Lech Poznan have come to terms with Arka Gydnia on transfer of Joel Tshibamba.

The 21-year-old has officially signed with the Poznan club on Saturday.

Tshibamba had already agreed on the personal terms of his contract, so nothing stands in the way now for the player to help the team fight for promotion to the UEFA Champions League.

"Joel is now a player for Lech. We watched him play in Arka for some time. He made us feel as he is a player that has a huge potential, because of that together with the training staff we have decided to bring him to Poznan," says Lech GM, Marek Pogorzelczyk.

The striker comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo, which he also holds a Dutch citizenship. In the Netherlands, he played until 2009, playing for such clubs as NEC Nijmegen and FC Oss.

In the winter break last season he joined Arka Gdynia, where he played 12 matches and scored 5 goals.

Tshibamba is the third signing of Lech during the summer transfer window, with the club previously contracting Jacek Kielb (Korona Kielce) and Artur Wichniarek (Hertha Berlin).

The former Arka Gydnia player was very closely linked with a move to Legia Warsaw FC this summer. However, due to Legia not competing in Europe was a huge reason for Tshibamba to instead consider Lech's offer.
