KRAKOW, Poland. Sept 4 (PS) — New Wisla Krakow acquisition Nourdin Boukhari a few years ago once played with stars such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wesley Sneijder - now he will play in the Ekstraklasa.

The player admits that his former colleagues from across Europe have asked him why he chose to play in Poland of all places.

Boukhari was loaned to Wisla from Turkish side Kasımpaşa SK Having hardly played there, as the Dutch-born player sought a loan for some much needed playing time.

He explains that this is due to the club changing it's coach, with the new coach bringing in players he formally trained to the club and giving them a easy spot on the first team. With this in mind, Boukhari looked to Wisla Krakow's new coach - Robert Maaskant to give him a chance to become a key player in the Ekstraklasa.

"Robert is a very serious coach, I knew that with his help he can turn my career around in a positive way," says the Moroccan international.

Currently representing Morocco on the international level, but born in Rotterdam, in his football career Boukhari played with such players as Ibrhimović, Litmanen, van der Vaart, Sneijder and Heitinga. The last two are in constant contact.

"I informed everyone about my move to Wisla. Even if I did not, they would have found out either way about the transfer, as it would be reported in the Dutch media. Like most of my friends they asked, "Why Poland?"  Boukhari told Przegląd Sportowy.

"At Wisla I have a chance to recover the joy of playing football. I want to be the main player, and to give joy to the fans. Coming here I had to reckon with the reduction in earnings, but I do not regret this. I got a chance to enjoy football again." ends Boukhari.
