POZNAN, Poland. Jan 29 (PSN) - Until now it was nothing but rumors and unofficial information, but now fans know for sure.
Rafal Murawski has officially signed a 3.5-year contract with KKS Lech Poznan.
The Kolejorz paid the Russian club one million euros for the player. The payment will be distributed in two installments.
"Until recently I did not expect that I would this quickly come back to Lech. I had a valid contract with Rubin, but things just got the ball rolling, and now I'm in Poznan and very very happy. There was much speculation in my connection with my return to Poland. I knew that I wanted to come back to Lech." said Murawski at his signing.
"I know that my expectations are high, perhaps even more than when I played earlier in Lech. But I will try to tackle the task at hand," he added.
Murawski transferred to Rubin Kazan in the summer of 2009. In the Russian league he appeared in 30 matches, scoring one goal.
In the UEFA Champions League he played a total of six matches and scored the first one month after his league debut. Rubin then lost away to Dynamo Kiev 1:3, and Murawski appeared on the pitch in the 77th minute, replacing Alejandro Dominguez.
The Polish international will not join Lech during the winter break training camp in Spain, but will do so after his international call-up against Norway in Portugal.
Murawski will also be unavailable for Lech in the UEFA Europa Cup encounter against SC Braga next month, due to his appearance in Europe for Kazan this season.
