WARSAW, Poland. Mar 13 (PSN) - The 18th round of the Polish Ekstraklasa has seen Wisła Kraków further confirm their intentions of winning the Polish championship, meanwhile their rivals lost points.
Both Legia Warsaw FC, and Jagiellonia Białystok lost points toward their title race with the White Star.
A sensational result in Kraków. Defending against relegation, and last place in the league table at 18th, Cracovia avoided defeat in a match with defending champions Lech Poznań. The only goal came in the 28th minute. Klich decided on a shot from outside the box, where the ball bounced from the legs of defender Kikut who was trying to block it and lobbed over Kotorowski. In this situation, the Lech goalkeeper had no chance.
Zagłębie Lubin - Polonia Warszawa 1:0 (1:0)
Jan Urban's debut behind the bench for Lubin proved to be worth the wait. The goal the importance for the three points was scored by Michal Stasiak in the 13th minute of the match. Polonia Warszawa were unable to take control of the game after the first goal.
Jagiellonia Białystok - Lechia Gdańsk 1:2 (0:0)
Already at the 54th minute Lechia took the lead. After taking a shot at the goal area, the ball bounced from the bar, and through the legs of Sandomierski. Moments later it was 2-0 with Lechia striker Traore beating Sandomierski with a rebound. Jagiellonia did not collapse, and in the 60th minute earned themselves a goal, but it was not enough to save themselves the match.
Wisła Kraków - Widzew Łódź 2:0 (1:0)
A big favorite in this match were the hosts and they did not disappoint the fans who come to stadium at Reymonta. The White Star took the lead in the 44th minute. After a cross from the right wing by Kirm to Patryk Malecki, who took the ball in the penalty area and beat Mielcarz. In the 79th minute it was 2-0, with Kirm taking advantage of a penalty kick.
Ruch Chorzów - PGE GKS Bełchatów 2:1 (1:0)
The Blues already scored the winning goal in the 24 minute of the game. Djokic took a low ground shot inside the penalty area which beat the GKS goalkeeper. In the 59th minute Ruch increased the lead. GKS scored back in the 74th minute from a free kick by Malkowski.
Korona Kielce - Polonia Bytom 3:3 (0:2)
After a very exciting match, Korona Kielce drew with Polonia Bytom 3:3. Before the break it seemed Polonia had the winning score, who had been winning 2-0, but in second half of the game Korona came back with a shocking 3 goals. Polonia also scored back to save the match, with both teams only taking a point from the match.
Legia Warsaw FC - Śląsk Wrocław 1:2 (1:1)
The match started much more better players for the Legion, who are already in the 7th minute thanks to Ariel Borysiuk took the lead. Śląsk replied in the 29th minute of the match, with them scoring another goal thanks to Dariusz Sztylka. In 70th minute Śląsk won a penalty kick, but Przemyslaw Kazmierczak took it wide. This marked 11 consecutive matches without defeat under coach Orest Lenczyk for Śląsk.
Górnik Zabrze - Arka Gdynia 2:2 (1:1)
The match was very fierce. Adam Banas started the goal count for the hosts, which in the 25th scored a minute. Arka leveled in the 38th minutes after firing over the head of the Górnik goalkeeper. Gdynia took advantage of the momentum and scored their second goal at the 52nd minute. The Miners rushed to recover their losses, and in the 79th minute Marcin Wodecki beat three defenders in the penalty area, then striking the ball at the crossbar past Arka goalkeeper Moretto.
