Wasilewski too expensive for Wisła Kraków?

KRAKOW, Poland. May 28 (PSN) - Marcin Wasilewski actually received permission to depart RSC Anderlecht in the summer transfer window.

But it seems the veteran defender may be too expensive for Wisła Kraków - reports Belgian media.

A week ago it was reported by the Belgian media that Wasilewski can strengthen the Polish champion. Apparently, Wisła general manager Stan Valckx watched him live in a game against Lokeren. In addition, the Dutchman said repeatedly that he wanted to bring to the team more Poles.

Bringing in the 31-year-old "Wasyl" to Kraków might however be too expensive for Wisła Kraków. While it is true that from his club the defender has received permission to seek a new employer, his contract is still valid for another year, so the White Star will need to pay for him.

For this - according to Belgian journalists - Wisła is unable to meet the financial expectations of the player who surely would like to receive a salary similar to that which he has in Brussels.

Wasilewski has played for RSC Anderlecht for over four years. Until a very serious injury in August 2009 when Axel Witsel from Standard Liege broke his leg, he was a pillar of the team and one of the best defenders in the Belgium league.

Recovery took more than a year for Wasilewski. After the injury, he started performing regularly at Anderlecht again on December 2010. In April, he was dropped out of the first team (he played in only 4 of the 10 games in the decisive phase of the Jupiler League).

In the opinion of fans he is now not as good of a player as before his fatal injury.

He played great for the national team and should get a call back up. Guys lets face it if we have to run with guys like Kamil Glick we will get blown out of our own stadium.
