KRAKOW, Poland. Nov 7 (PSN) - As announced on the official site of Wisła Kraków, Dutchman Robert Maaskant is no longer the head coach of the White Star.
Information about the release of Maaskant was released by the club website, which also announced that the duties of coaching the first team will be taken over temporarily by assistant coach Kazimierz Moskal.
"The owner, the Supervisory Board and Board of the club would like to thank Maaskant for his work as coach of Wisła, and wish you continued success in your coaching career," the club wrote in a statement.
Robert Maaskant led the White Star at the start of the year. During this time he won the Polish championship and advanced the club to 4th Qualifying Round of the UEFA Champions League and to the group stages of the UEFA Europa League.
Recent results achieved by his team, however, were unacceptable to the leadership of the club, which decided on a mutual termination of his existing contract until 2012.
The main candidate to replace him is Manolo Jimenez, who last led AEK Athens, which won the Greek Cup, and is currently unemployed.
