Official: Baruchyan with Polonia

WARSAW, Poland. Jan 3 (PSN) - Aviram Baruchyan is now officially a Polonia Warszawa player.

Aviram BaruchyanOn Tuesday, the Israeli midfielder signed a 2.5-year contract with the Black Shirts.

Previously, the player passed a medical examination in the capital city. Conditions of the contract were set on Monday. Polonia paid his previous club - Beitar Jerusalem - about 300-400 thousand euros for the transfer.

Baruchyan spent his entire football career with Beitar Jerusalem. In the 2002/2003 season, he joined the senior team, for whom he played until now more than 221 matches and scored 36 goals. In the current season appeared he appeared 14 times on the field, 5 times coming off the bench.

The midfielder, who is still expected to play for Beitar Jerusalem this Saturday, will reportedly net 200,000 euros per season.

The player's contract was due to expire at the end of this season. The deal will add $400,000 to Beitar's depleted coffers.

"The team's situation pains me," Baruchyan told Haaretz.com on Monday.

"For a long time I wanted to fulfill my dream of playing in Europe, and I'm leaving with a difficult feeling. It's not simple leaving Beitar. I believe the team will remain in the Premier League." .

This is the first winter transfer made by Polonia.
