BIALYSTOK, Poland. Mar 8 (PS) — Thiago Rangel Cionek, Jagiellonia Bialystok's Brazilian defender would like to play in the Polish national team. He has requested for Polish citizenship, but still is waiting for a response from the legal office.

Jagiellonia helped the player in preparing a proposal for granting him citizenship in July last year. They have still no response, but Cionek knows that he must have patience.

WARSAW, Poland. Mar 3 (PS) — The Polish national team defeated Bulgaria 2-0 in a friendly match on Wednesday played at the stadium of KP Polonia in Warsaw.

Goals for the Polish side, which for the first time in history occurred in a dark navy kit, scored Jakub Blaszczykowski and Robert Lewandowski.

DOETINCHEM, The Netherlands. Mar 3 (UEFA) — The Netherlands have one foot in next summer's UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Denmark after beating Poland 3-2 to take a six-point lead at the top of Group 4.

Cor Pot's side fell behind to Polish captain Mateusz Cetnarski's low shot from the edge of the penalty area midway through the first half, and were fortunate not to be two down on the stroke of half-time when Kamil Grosicki's effort hit the crossbar.

 
Poland to play Bulgaria in new navy Away 10/12 kit

WARSAW, Poland. Mar 2 (PS) — Poland's new series of away kit has been officially unveiled on Tuesday in Warsaw by teamwear brand NIKE.

"The difference between winning and losing comes down to a split second. The width of a post. The height of a jump. The weight of a shirt. Expectation weighs heavy, but not on your shoulders. Wear it with pride. Write History." - states a new NIKE slogan for the jersey.
