OTTAWA, Canada. Oct 28 — The Bialo-czerwoni will take on the Canadian national team in an exhibition match on November 18 in Bydgoszcz, the Canadian Soccer Association announced on Wednesday.

The Poles were originally supposed to face off against Hungary after an already confirmed friendly match with Romania on November 14. Due to a poor formal agreement the Hungarians backed out and the Canadian Soccer Association stepped in.

Canada will meet Macedonia in Strumica on November 14 as part of their European exhibition schedule, then travel to Bydgoszcz to take on Poland on November 18. This will be Canada's third game in Europe of 2009, having previously defeated Cyprus 1-0 in May.

Even without playing a game in the last month, Canada moved up 13 spots to No. 53 in the latest FIFA world rankings, while Poland dropped to No.56 after a poor World Cup qualification ending.

This will be the fourth meeting between Poland and Canada. The Poles won the previous three fixtures, including their most recent encounter in Toronto on July 15, 1998. The Bialo-czerwoni's other victories against Canada came in 1973, also in Toronto, and 1974, in Warsaw.

The Canucks, like Poland have an interim in Stephen Hart, who on April 18 was named as interim Head Coach of the Canadian national team following the release of Dale Mitchell. With Hart, Canada compiled a 4-1-1 record in 2009, including a strong run to the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup quarter-final stage after eventually being knocked out by Honduras (0-1).

Poland's current interim Head Coach Stefan Majewski is unlikely to feature due to the Polish Football Association's recent announcement in soon revealing the country's next full time selekcjoner.

The match will kickoff at 17:00 local time (11:00 ET) in the northern Polish city.

once i have seen on youtube a special report beeing shown in canadian television. " the forgotten heroes" it was a duty by candaian television to the soldiers of Poland in the WW2 ...almost cried when i saw that

+ the u-20 2007 where brazil played against Polska(won by Polska 1:0), the crwod was unbelievable loud and like 90:10 cheering for Poland.

+beeing almost 1 year in minnesota i felt the big neighbour in the north is pretty much liked. every guy i get to know is travelling at least to the winnepeg festival or for great nature to canada.

+i guess the colors in the flag are not coaccidently also White and Red. :-)

to end the text. HUNGARY and POLSKA are Brothers with Fighting and Drinking at Europe and Worldwide it IS CANADA.
I say Vancouver and Trojmiasto should become close partners, as also Montreal and W-WA, Winnepeg and "wootch" how Lodz is pronaunced right. Opole with Toronto.and so on

I wonder if Polish Canadian Tomasz Radzinski will be given a chance to play against his former countrymen?
