WARSAW, Poland. Nov 13 — Polish supporters are still shocked to see the exclusion of the country's UEFA EURO 2008 Qualifying super star Ebi Smolarek in Franciszek Smuda's November call-up sheet. The newly appointed selekcjoner explains that his decision of dropping the Dutch-raised player was more then him still being without a club.

"Yes of course, I hear this all the time now. Where is Ebi, where is Ebi? That is exactly the same question I ask." answers Smuda.

Euzebiusz Smolarek is currently experiencing some very hard times in his professional football career. The Popular 'Ebi' has been without a club since the summer after being fired in Spain, failed a trial with HSV Hamburg, has been dropped off the national team, little to no clubs are interested in his services, and now he has 'disappeared' in his native Holland.

"I do not even know where he is. If he is such a world class player as he claims, then why does no one want him? He went to a desperate HSV side and they choice to rely on their inexperienced youth over signing him. It is difficult to call-up a player to the national team that is without a club and hasn't played professional football for such a long while."

"Even if I did want to call him up, I would not know where to look. He doesn't even pick up his home phone, no one knows what is going on with him. The last I heard anything on him is that he was last training with his brother, which is a cycling instructor..."

"Until he finds a team and shows the world he is still alive and well, there will be no place for him on my team. Sure, Ebi certainly has great merits accomplished on the team, but they alone can not decide on his appointment."

"If they did, I might as well call-up... Darek Szpakowski." jokes Smuda.

Ebi's problem is that he thinks he's a world class striker and thus wants mad money... now he's got none.

Smolarek said he didnt make it because they didnt offer him enough money, while HSV's coach Labbadia said he wasnt good enough... who here is telling the truth?

Did he actually "fail" the trail at Hamburg or did he just demand too much money? From what I heard, they two sides could not reach an agreement. Ebi needs a little reality check and put his ego aside if he wants to play at a decent club.
