KIELCE, Poland. Nov 29 — On March 3 the Polish national team will face the Bulgarian national team in a friendly match. The arena at which Franciszek Smuda's men will play this match has also become confirmed.
The match with Bulgaria will be played in Kielce, in the Arena Kielc. It's considered a lucky stadium for the Bialo-czerwoni by majority of fans. The stadium is home to Polish Ekstraklasa outfit Korona Kielce. In the last international match played there, Poland routed San Marino 10:0 in FIFA World Cup 2010 Qualifying. Previously they defeated Armenia 1-0 in UEFA EURO 2008 Qualifying.
When the Poles played with Slovakia in Chorzow a month ago the Polish Football Association (PZPN) forgot to prepare a red ball in case of snow fall. Unfortunately, heavy snow fell and the provided yellow NIKE variant match ball was poorly visible.
At the recent international friendly match with Romania the PZPN selected the Legion Stadium in Warsaw as the match venue due to it being demanded by the Romanian Football Association. The pitch condition, to put it mildly, was not in the best condition and caused player injuries on both teams post-match.
Supporters will hope that on the occasion of facing a friendly match with Bulgaria there will not be such unexpected "surprises".
Poland are also in the process of finding another friendly opponent which they will play after Bulgaria during March. Portugal was a popular name rumoured to face Smuda's kadra by local Polish media, but the rumour was quickly debunked after the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) stated there were no ongoing talks between federations.
