WARSAW, Poland. Jan 31 — There are already new plans made for the future Polish football national team games. Everything seems to indicate that one of Franciszek Smuda's new rivals may be the Italians - reports Przegląd Sportow.

The match with the current World Cup champions (2006) will be held in August at the official opening of the stadium in Poznan. Both national teams will play in their strongest roster.

Earlier, the Poles will face Bulgaria at KP Polonia Warszawa's stadium on March 3.

Another match is also virtually almost contracted, the match in Kielce, where Poland will play against Finland (23 May). The white and red will then head on a ten-day trip to Austria for training camp at the end of the season.

There, they will spar with two World Cup finalists starring in South Africa this summer: Honduras (29 May) and Serbia (1 or 2 June).

"It is better to systematically raise the level of difficulty, than to throw our team at the deep end with a strong rival." explains the opponent selection, Franciszek Smuda.

"We will take a step at a time. Only playing with the best can you become the best,"

At this moment, negotiations are still underway with Honduras and Serbia. However, It is also almost certain that the match with Italy will be played in August.

Great but i'm still thinking about the New York Red Bulls beating Poznan 1-0 no surprise to me the EK is a joke. This is a new red bull team and they are just in spring training.
