WARSAW, Poland. Aug 25 (PS) — Next year, the Polish national team will play a friendly against 2010 World Cup champions, Spain.

This will be an opportunity for the team led by Franciszek Smuda for revenge after their embarrassing 0:6 away defeat.

"Yes we have agreed with the Spaniards that first we will play with them on June 8, and in a year they will come to us." said on the radio Tok FM Adam Olkowicz, vice president of Polish Football Association (PZPN).

Next year will be a number of hit friendly matches, especially with the anticipated grand opening of the National Stadium in Warsaw, where the Bialo-czerwoni will play against Germany.

"We will play the world champions and the bronze medalists of the World Cup, so these are high-end rivals." added Olkowicz.

Smuda's kadra just before the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, lost to Spain in Murcia, as world champions gave the Poles a 0:6 beating.

The date of next match with Spain is yet to be disclosed to the public.
