HELSINKI, Finland. Sept 4 (PS) — This weekend saw the Polish U-21 side defeated against Finland in the UEFA U-21 Championships qualifying round.

Poland held it's own until a decisive penalty kick which saw after the Bialo-czerwoni losing all hope in winning.

The fourth defeat in qualifying for the UEFA Junior Championships has been suffered by the Polish national team. Andrej Zamilski's team lost 0:2 on Friday away to Finland.

The match worked out badly for the white and red. In the 25th minute Polish goalkeeper Michal Gliwa fouled Jonne Hjelm with the referee dictating a penalty kick for the hosts. The result remained 1-0 until the end of the first half.

In the second half coach Zamilski introduced onto the pitch Maciej Korzym and Marcin Wodecki. However, this did not effect anything for the Poles positively. Meanwhile, in the 73rd minute the Finns already led 2-0. This time it Sebastian Mannström entered on the list of goal scorers. The Poles were not able to respond in any way.

Following this match, the Poles continue to occupy third place in the group.
