WARSAW, Poland. Mar 13 (PSN) - Can Israeli midfielder Maor Melikson soon be a Poland representative?
There are indeed signs of the possibility coming true.
"Melikson in the kadra? We do not say no, we are looking at him closely developing his football skills. But it all depends on the attitude of the player, how he feels about playing for Poland. Only later will we look into his issues with the needed documents. We can not be interested in, after all, everyone who has a Polish citizenship, because instead of a Polish representation, we will have a mix international side." Zieliński said on air on Orange Sport.
The Wisła Kraków player Maor Melikson has indeed Polish roots, his mother was born in Legnica, Poland.
Although he was born in Israel and had already managed to debut in the colors of the national side of this country, it was only a friendly match, and according to the latest FIFA rules he may change his national team and play with the eagle on his chest if needed.
Melikson already has Polish citizenship. In January, the Israeli midfielder received his Polish documents and does not even have to apply for a work permit in Poland.
