WARSAW, Poland. Mar 26 (PSN) - After the 0-2 defeat against Lithuania, Poland head coach Franciszek Smuda fired back at his players poor performance during a post game press conference.
At the same time, he was sharply attacked by Jan Tomaszewski. The former Polish goalkeeper believes that such games await Poland in a UEFA EURO 2012 humiliation.
Tomaszewski attacked Smuda, who he alleges that rather than relying on Artur Boruc, he makes strange choices.
"You have to fire Smuda as soon as possible. This is a simpleton who does not know anything about football. He does not call-up Artur Boruc, as he is in great form. Rather, instead he plays a cucumber that all he can catch is flies," said Tomaszewski.
This is a reference to Smuda playing debutant goalkeeper Sebastian Małkowski of Ekstraklasa side Lechia Gdańsk.
The former Polish goalkeeper and legend is now a leading critic of the actions of the Polish Football Association (PZPN) and the current team coach after Friday's match even seethed with anger.
"When will this circus finally end and someone sacks this Smuda. Because of him we will only be compromised at the EURO,"

I've also been critical of him in the past, but in any case, Smuda has been able to bring about a bit of an improvement in results. All he needs is for the players to show more professionalism and dedication and we'll see what happens in the EURO. If Tomaszewski wants to contribute to the improvement of the country's football he's welcome to take up some responsibility, else he should act like a man and keep his big mouth shut!!
