LONDON, England. Nov 20 — Polish international goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has been sent on loan from Arsenal FC to the Brentford FC - announced the Barclays Premiership outfit on Friday.
In September, the Pole appeared in an official match for Arsenal FC's first team - where he played in the Carling Cup encounter against West Bromwich Albion.
Szczesny also made his international debut on Wednesday on the Polish national team in the friendly match against Canada (1:0). The reserve goalkeeper appeared during the second half after substituting Manchester United's Tomasz Kuszczak.
"To play for the national team is the highest honor," the goaltender said after the match, adding that after his return from international duty he will look for the club which could go for on loan.
"I realize that if I want to become Poland's number one I have to play regularly. That is why a loan to a club where I can do this is my number one priority at this time."
Wojciech Szczesny, who was Arsenal FC's fourth rated goalkeeper will join Coca-Cola Football League 1 side Brentford FC - who currently occupy 16th place with 18 points (With a scoring record of 17:22). The loan deal is set for one month.
"We hope that through the loan of the Polish goalkeeper we can improve the quality of our game. On the occasion we also wanted to demonstrate that we want to bring in good players to the club." said Brentford manager Andy Scott.
