Kuszczak to change clubs this January?

MANCHESTER, England. Nov 28 — Polish international Tomasz Kuszczak has realized that the possibility of playing number one at Manchester United has become very slim. Instead the reserve goalkeeper is concerned about a transfer this winter window to one of two powerful clubs interested in him. One in the English Barclays Premier League, and the second in the German Bundesliga - reports Super Express.

Tomasz Kuszczak from the beginning of his stay at Old Trafford could not get through to the first team of the Red Devils. Instead, United coach Sir Alex Ferguson stubbornly starts the 39-year-old Dutch veteran - Edwin van der Sar.

Once English goaltender Ben Foster is added to the mix, another player who is fighting for the first place at MU, the situation does not begin to look too good for the struggling Pole.

Poland boss Franciszek Smuda has informed Kuszczak to change clubs if he plans to seriously overtake the current Poland number one - ironically - Arsenal FC's second in command Lukasz Fabianski.

Luckily, the situation may soon change in the nearest transfer window. Super Express reports that the fifth Barclays Premier League team - Aston Villa are strongly interested in the Polish representative. If that does not please Kuszczak, then news of him being in the orbit of great interest of top German dogs Bayern Munich should.

A possible move to Aston Villa should not cause any alarm for the Pole. Kuszczak perfectly knows Birmingham as it is where he began his career in England playing at West Bromwich Albion. At the moment, the Villans first choice goalkeeper is 38-year-old American - Brad Friedel.

Also, the acclimation in the Bundesliga should niether cause problems for Kuszczak. Part of his starting career abroad was spent in the German capital playing for Hertha Berlin. The Pole reportedly became a target of Bayern during the summer Audi Cup pre-season tournament.

If Man U get rid of Kuszczak it would be a terrible mistake. Kuszczak is a better goaltender then Ben Foster so I don't understand the frustration of Kuszczak and Smuda about his playing time... He arguably on the best team in soccer! Kuszczak should just chill and wait..As for Smuda saying that Kuszczak has to start for someone to win the goaltender job is crazy. Fabianski is a back up as well! If he start Fabianski in front of Kuszczak that will just show how much of a hypocrite Smuda is. I still think Boruc should be the starter but it he cant it should be Kuszczak...he plays better on a better team...hands down...I never liked the signing of Smuda...know i know why I didnt and i know why the Polish national team is in such disarray as it is now! It's truly sad to see.

What's stupid about his claim is that he started today and put in an impressive performance in the big Dutchman's absence. It may have been only against Portsmouth but he still did well. Ferguson has doubts over Ben Foster so Kuszczak does look to be the go-to guy as it were. So WHY should he think of moving? Also, Van der Sar will almost definitely retire at the end of this season, so I would think that he should remain patient and continue to work.

If Aston Villa are really interested in Kuszczak, it's only as a backup. Why would they be looking for a first choice keeper when they have Brad Guzan? Guzan has been biding his time and has impressed greatly whenever he's been given the chance (he saved four penalties in a match a month or so ago!) so it follows that he'll be first in line to replace Brad Friedel. Kuszczak would wind up on the bench again.
