GLASGOW, Scotland. Mar 10 (PS) — Hoops boss Tony Mowbray says Celtic FC have opened negotiations with goalkeeper Artur Boruc over a new deal at Parkhead.

Reports suggest German giants Bayern Munich and HSV Hamburg are keen on the Poland international, whose current contract with the Hoops runs out at the end of next season.

Celtic are hoping to persuade the 30-year-old to agree to a new deal and it is thought he will be offered at least a year's extension.

The Hoops boss was reluctant to go into detail about the negotiations but confirmed they are up and running.

"What I will say is that conversations have been had with Artur and his advisors, but whatever we discuss stays in-house," he told the Evening Times.

Boruc joined Celtic from Legia Warsaw FC in 2005 and has made in excess of 150 SPL appearances for the Glasgow club.
