CATANIA, Italy. Mar 12 (Fakt) — Calcio Catania defender Blazej Augustyn is starting to cope better in the Italian Serie A.

The Italian media have begun to praise him, and so has former Poland national team coach Zbigniew Boniek.

"I would like to play in the national team, but I'm not going to push myself into it by force." says the 22-year-old.

"Mr. Smuda is counting on others at the moment, surely, he has not seen me yet in action. Well, unless he watched me at the time when I played with Legia, but everything looked horrible back then. Maybe he does not have a good opinion about me?" adds Augustyn, who has a new role in his club as a defensive midfielder.

In his new role he played 90 minutes at a recent match against AS Roma.

So far, in the colors of the club from Sicily, Augustine has played in eleven matches, including seven in the league, but Poland coach Franciszek Smuda has not yet permitted him to debut in the white and red colors.

On his blog, Zbigniew Boniek strongly encourages him to do so.

"How is it possible that the only Polish player, who plays regularly in Serie A is not in the team?" questions Boniek.

"The boy is sorted out tactically, he is always behind the ball, knows how to set the action and cut to a pretty good command of the ball with both feet. His excellent physical condition and fitness is really quite good."
