BRAGA, Portugal. July 6 (FN) — Bartosz Bialkowski will not be moving to Sporting Braga, or to any other club any time soon.
The Polish U-20 international goalkeeper failed his medical test with Braga, just moments before his contract signing.
Bialkowski's transfer to Sporting Braga was one hundred percent sure, but the Polish goalkeeper failed to undergo his medical test! The disappointment 23-year-old had to return to England - and all on his birthday.
On one of the workouts Sporting goalkeeper Quim had suffered an achilles tendon injury. This made the club interested in signing the young Bialkowski, which would be a substitute to number one Eduardo.
However, due to Eduardo's performances in the 2010 FIFA World Cup abroad clubs such as Genoa FC and Malaga have gained interest in him. If Eduardo were to leave, Bialkowski would be the main candidate to take over the number one shirt in goal.
The Pole flew to Portugal during the weekend. He had a signature on the contract, but first had to do a medical, which is always a formality. In the case of the Southampton FC goalkeeper it turned out that the failed medical test blocked his transfer.
July 6th was also the birthday of the celebrating 23-year-old player. Fate did not present him with a successful gift, but the reasons for the failed tests has yet to be made public.
