KATOWICE, Poland. July 21 (PS) — Former Polish international Jacek Krzynowek has decided to end his professional club career.

The player last played in the German Bundesliga side, Hannover 96.

Krzynowek during his professional career played 95 matches on the Polish national team, scoring 15 goals.

He appeared in 3 major tournaments for Poland: 2002 FIFA World Cup, 2006 FIFA World Cup, UEFA EURO 2008.

The 34-year-old's decision to leave the football pitch for good was prompted by a knee injury which prevented him from playing anymore with Hannover 96.

"Jacek wants to completely break off with football and spend more time with his family. But it seems to me that after a few months he will miss football so much that he will return to football in a different role," reveals Slawomir Majak, a friend of Krzynowek.

On his account he has performed in a variety of clubs such as RKS Radomsko, Rakow Czestochowa, GKS Belchatow, 1. FC Nuremberg, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, VfL Wolfsburg and recently Hannover 96

Sad that he won't get to earn his 100th cap, and also that he had to end it this way. But like I've said before, Jacek Krzynowek will be remembered as one of Polish football's finest servants and I wish him the best for his future career.
