GLASGOW, Scotland. July 15 (PSN) - Celtic FC manager, Neil Lennon has admitted that Lukasz Zaluska will start the season between the goal posts for Celtic.
However, the Polish goalkeeper has to remember the lessons learned from the previous season.
"I have no fear to begin this season with Lukasz in goal," the manager admits in an interview with Daily Record.
"He is ready for this challenge. But a year ago had the exact same chance."
Zaluska played in the first two rounds of league matches and the qualifying games to the UEFA Champions League (with Braga) and the UEFA Europa League (Utrecht). In the first two legs he conceded five goals, and the other game, Utrecht scored four goals. Between the goal posts Fraser Forster took his place, but he has now returned to Newcastle.
"Lukasz did not cope as we expected when he entered the gate after the departure of Artur Boruc. We talked with him and explained that this was a big disappointment for us. But now he looks more confident and also in terms of physical form looks much better." Lennon admits.
Zaluska must therefore be careful not to repeat the mistakes of last season. His attitude this season will be decisive, whether Celtic will extend a contract deal with him, which expires next year.
Besides this, Lennon is looking for a new goalkeeper. He admits that on his wish list is Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon, but now he is too expensive. In addition, Celtic tested Stipe Pletikosa.
