WARSAW, Poland. Aug 5 (PSN) - Euzebiusz Smolarek has found a new club, not in Europe but in the Middle East.

SmolarekSmolarek on Friday signed a contract with Qatar club Al Khor Sports Club.

The Polish international has already joined in on his first training session with the first team on Friday night as well.

"I received a good number of offers from China and Cyprus, but the proposed offer from Al Khor looked the most interesting in financial terms." Smolarek told reporters on his decision to go to Qatar.

"Al Khor is a big club here, with some great ambitions. I am delighted to be here and help them achieve as much as possible."

Al Khor Sports Club was founded in 1961. The Qatari team's coach is Frenchman Alain Perrin, who previously led teams like Lyon, Sochaux, Saint-Etienne, Marseille, and Portsmouth. Under his leadership the club took 9th place in the Qatari league last season.

It should be noted that Smolarek traveled to Qatar as a free agent. The popular Ebi resolved his contract with Polonia Warszawa after a conflict with the owner of the club.
