WARSAW, Poland. Aug 16 (PSN) - Jacek Krzynówek officially acknowledged publicly before Canal + cameras  that he has ended his career.

Jacek KrzynówekKrzynówek struggled with a knee injury, but so far it seemed that he would have a come back to football.

A few months ago Krzynówek assured that his knee injury does not mean that his career will end. He had to heal and would return to Hanover.

The Germans listened to these assurances very carefully but were not in the same level of optimism as the Pole.

On Monday, it turned out that they were right - and Krzynówek would not be coming back.

"The knee is in a deplorable state. It was hard to decide about it, to finally hang up my boots," the 96-capped Polish representative said before the game with GKS Belchatow and Lech Poznań that aired live on Canal +.

"Never again will play in an official match," he added.

Krzynówek is known for his performances in the Polish national team and in the German Bundesliga, where - he played in over 270 matches. He played for Bayer Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, Nuernberg and Hannover 96.
