Obraniak takes on Bordeaux move

BORDEAUX, France. Jan 12 (AP) - Midfielder Ludovic Obraniak has joined Bordeaux from French champion Lille OSC.

Ludovic ObraniakThe midfielder must still undergo a medical and the finer details of the transfer must be ironed out, but the move is official.

Bordeaux said on its website Thursday that the 27-year-old Poland international has signed a 3 1/2 year contract, without giving further details.

He had only six months left on his Lille contract.

Obraniak played 152 league games for Lille, scoring 19 goals, but only started five league games last season when Lille won the league and French Cup double.

Obraniak, who has scored four goals in 20 appearances for Poland, hopes to be in the co-host's squad for the European Championship being held June 8-July 1.
