JOHANNESBURG, South Africa. June 13 (PS) — Will Zbigniew Boniek reappear on the FIFA world pitch? Unfortunately, no.

However, during the FIFA 2010 World Cup in South Africa on the pitch we'll get see another Boniek.

Who is this? Oscar Boniek Garcia Ramirez, a player from Honduras.

The Athlete Club Deportivo Olimpia player, however, is not associated in anyway with the Polish legend. The only resemblance is in the name, of which his parents gave him in honor of the Pole.

All thanks to Oscar's father, who in 1984 was a big fan of Juventus FC where the popular 'Zibi' played.

According to the Honduras international, his mother calls him 'Zbigniew', and teammates from his team even joke in saying that Oscar plays... like a Pole.

"From the Internet I know who he was and what Zbigniew Boniek looks like. I hope because of my name Poles will cheer for Honduras during the FIFA World Cup." says the 25-year-old defender.

"I know that we differ greatly in appearance and position on the pitch. But I would like to meet Mr. Zbigniew one day in the future," the Honduras Boniek confessed.

The man himself, Zbigniew Boniek has already heard about his namesake from Central America.

"I should go to South Africa and give him my shirt. Unfortunately, I have a few important things on my mind, so I will have to miss the World Cup. But I will remember about him. If only the occasion will arise, for sure I will meet with him and even give him a souvenir. For now, I wish him the best performance in South Africa." admits the real Boniek to Onet.
