WARSAW, Poland. Aug 07 (PS) — By looking at Poland's performances on the international stage and European club scene, It seems Polish football has reached a new low.

Four teams lost their matches in European competition and only KKS Lech Poznan, thanks to UEFA's Michel Platini's reform, will play in the fourth round of the UEFA Europa League qualifying elimination.

Polish footballing legend Zbigniew Boniek in raw assessment goes even further: Polish football is the Titanic of football.

"Polish football could be even worse, because we're the football Titanic. We go to the bottom, and the fun continues. How we play each other this is exciting, it is nice ... but when it comes to play in Europe, the fun ends very quickly. We will have stadiums for the EURO, but what's next? With this level who will not fill them." carefully evaluates Boniek.

"Defeats of Polish teams have long ceased to surprise me. Polish football has no vision for development, so I urge to get used to this state of affairs," Boniek tells Sport.

Asked specifically about the failure of Wisla Krakow in European competition, he replied with a sorrow look.

"It was not that they lost to accidental goals. In both matches the other side were simply stronger. Sad, but true."

People have been calling for change but nobody has heeded the call. Slow minds are followed by slow feet. Change must happen and it needs to come from the top down. Then built from the bottom back up.
