EL: Lech Poznań in "Group of Death"

MONACO, Monaco. Aug 27 (PS) — 48 clubs all over Europe will participate in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League, with one of them being Polish side KKS Lech Poznan.

On a draw held in Monaco by UEFA on Friday, Lech were paired up to a difficult group with Juventus FC, Manchester City, and FC Red Bull Salzburg.

Each of the teams were divided into 12 groups. To 1/16 finals of the UEFA Europa League, two of the best teams from each group will be promoted.

Lech Poznan advanced to the knockout phase after defeating Ukrainian side FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. Now they face a new task, an almost impossible one - surviving the group of death.

The schedule for group A is already confirmed. The first match Lech will play Away - September 16, with Juventus FC. This is good news for Poznan. Their first match at home will be after the official opening of the club's new stadium. This will be the match with FC Red Bull Salzburg, which will feature on September 30, and the Austrians are likely to play in front of 43,000 supporters at the stadium.

The two top teams of each of the 12 groups will advance from their group and move on to the next round of the UEFA Europa League.
